Line 6 DL4 Modded
This is a modified Line 6 DL4 delay pedal. The most obvious change is the paint, which is a black sparkle, which in my opinion looks awesome!
The other, most obvious modification is the LED’s, which were changed out from the boring stock red LED’s to blue LED’s for the presets, and a white LED for the tap tempo. I like the color blue…plus, as any guitarist will tell you, Blue LED’s make it sound better. It’s a fact.
The next mod I did was to replace the stock switches, which tend to go bad, mostly because they use a PCB mounted switch with the switch you step on actually being an actuator that presses that switch. When the spring on that actuator gets loose, the effect doesn’t always get triggered when you step on it. So by putting in these hard wired switches, we eliminate that issue.
The biggest mod for the pedal is the “double preset” modification, which is the switch on top. This switch allows you to save two versions of each preset, so you can essentially have 6 presets versus 3. It makes it a lot of fun, and in my opinion, a bit more usable.
Last but not least, is the external jack for a tap tempo. This allows you to sync the DL4 with your other delay pedals by using a global tap tempo pedal. Bam.
